Smartphone filming

The best camera is the one you have with you. And for many of us, that’s our smartphone. Discover how to make spot-on short films that are interesting, amusing, intriguing and will make you stand out of the masses. In this session, we focus on non-fiction, but if you in the end want to do some cool fiction, it’s all up to you!

The session will start by getting the basics right; we’ll help you with a basic set of tips and tricks and interview skills and we’ll browse through some available apps and options on your phone. As most films generate from an idea by design, we’ll work out a little script or shotlist and storyboard and then we’re off to film. Before finalizing the film in the edit, we’ll tell you a little bit about the grammar of the edit. You’ll be editing on your smartphone with a free and easy to use app (t.b.d.). We premiere and share the films on a private Youtube-channel.

What do you need for this workshop: Smartphone or tablet (preferably OSX or Android) with access to your Appstore or a movie-editor pre-installed, USB-cable and charger (or powerbank). If you’d like to use accessories like a tripod, selfie-sick or gimbal and you happen to have one, take it to the session with you!
